Do You Know Jesus?

This morning, I heard the Lord Jesus asking me what I knew about Him. Sitting on the wooden floor, I closed my eyes allowing His presence, peace and the silence of the morning to engulf me. In my mind’s eye, I saw a large, vibrant white lily with soft light emanating from it. I saw that the lily was delicate and pure, yet strong.
I replied to the Lord. “I know you”. “You are the lily of the valley”. “You are the fairest of ten-thousand but it’s more like the fairest among all” I digressed for a moment thinking how the writer of that line may have found the term “ten-thousand” more eloquent to insert in the song than “of all”. I continued. “You are perfect, and you are love” “ You are perfection, but you came to this Earth to save us”. I became emotional as I tried to comprehend how such heavenly perfection could come to Earth to touch us in our sin, dirt and imperfection. “I know who you are Lord Jesus, that is why I follow you”, I continued.
Today my question to you is the same. Do you know Jesus? One cannot simply see or know Jesus without following Him. He is the way, the truth and the life. No man will enter heaven without the precious redemptive work of the cross of Jesus, His passion for you and me. To Know Jesus is to love Him. To know Him is to follow Him. To know Him is to call Him Lord, Saviour, Master, Friend, Lover, your everything. There is no one greater that you should know than He. So, do you know who Jesus is?
As long as you draw breathe it is never too late to call out to Him. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13) All you need to do is believe. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” (Acts 16:31). If this message has stirred up hope and faith in your heart, do not hesitate to act on the most important decision you can ever make. Make the Lord Jesus, your Lord Jesus by saying this prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, I believe in you. I declare that Jesus Christ is Lord. I call upon your name, Lord Jesus and I ask you to forgive me of all my sins past, present and future. I ask you Lord Jesus to come into my heart and make my entire being your home. I give you, and only you all of my life, as you gave your life for me on the cross. I receive all that You died on the cross to give me and I ask you to fill me with your Holy Spirit that will empower me to live a Holy life and teach me all things concerning you and the Kingdom of Heaven. In your name I pray, Amen.
Welcome home child of God! All who receive the Son, receive the Father. You are now registered in Heavenly places, and the Father sees you as His family now. Get a Bible NOW and start reading. Always ask the Holy Spirit to teach you before you begin reading. Here is a sample prayer you could pray: Holy Spirit, thank you for your presence. Please direct my Bible reading and give me understanding, revelation and your interpretation of your word. I know that you are one with Jesus and the Father. Thank you that you have come to remain in me, to be my teacher, comforter and helper. In Jesus name, Amen.
Remember the Holy Spirit teaches you all things concerning Christ so ask Him to show you how to pray as well. You can download a digital Bible that has all versions on apple or android app stores. I personally read the King James Bible and the New King James Bibles but also use the Youversion Bible app. Again, asking the Holy Spirit to show you what to read and give you understanding, revelation and interpretation before your read every time will ensure that the true message will be given to you.
Journal what you read and what was revealed to you as you read. You will be amazed at what the Lord shows you and you will have that as a record and reminder of your walk with the Lord and what He has taught you. Find a community of faith. This requires some serious prayer. Don’t judge with your eyes. We are not meant to see people anymore according to the flesh but through the spirit and the fruit of righteousness they have produced. We are not called to judge each other but God wants us to judge what is good for each one of us. Your community of faith may exist online, in person or in your very neighbourhood. Earnestly ask the Lord to lead you to His people and He will. Ask the Holy Spirit to protect you from the wrong people. There are wolves in Sheep clothing so stay asking the Spirit to direct you and protect your mind daily. Pray as much as you can. Prayer is communing with God. Ideally, it is best to put time aside where nothing else intrudes, when you can sit in the stillness of the morning, night or time in nature meditating on the Lord’s love and word. Become comfortable with pauses and quiet. It is not stupid. There is a reason why the Spirit is called a “still small voice” in the scriptures. He is gentle, but His power raised Jesus from the dead, so, be still and listen. He will speak. Write down what He tells you.
If you find it hard to set time aside to pray, or if life’s demands do not permit it, learn to pray as you work and go about your daily duties. You can also use the audio Bible feature in Youversion Bible to hear the word. Allowing the scripture to be broadcast is also a powerful protective practice. Prayer can happen at anytime and anywhere. Some prayer is as short as calling the name Jesus and asking Him to Help you at that moment however, the more time given to quiet time with Jesus, the less need there will be in your life for emergency prayers. I have lived through many experiences that others could never understand. I tell you all this from my personal knowledge, experience and testimony. Jesus is real. He loves you and is for you. He is worth every bit of time you set aside to put Him first and focus on Him. Call on Him and you will be saved. All scriptures for my message are provided below for your references and future learning.
If you have come this far, please reach out to me. I would love to answer any questions you may have and walk beside you on this journey of faith. Here is a song I wrote of blessings to wash over you as you pray. This link will take you to Spotify where you can listen free however the song is available on Amazon music, and apple music as well. May the Lord bless and keep you. May His face shine upon you. May the Lord grant you abundant peace, rest, and healing, and may He be glorified in your life, the lives of your loved ones and in everything you do in Jesus’ name. Amen.
